Why Clean Beauty?

Clean beauty is a term that you may have heard used more and more over the last few years.  It is a term that refers to beauty products that do not contain harmful toxins or ingredients that are unkind to your health.  Many products that you find on the market today are full of ingredients that can cause all sorts of health issues, including infertility and cancer.  Even products that say "natural" on the packaging may only have one natural ingredient in them and the rest of the product could be toxic because these kinds of words are not regulated and are therefore open to exploitation. Another part of the clean beauty world that we are very passionate about here at JB is the sustainable side to the clean beauty world.  Clean beauty brands tend to be the ones that are making most eco conscious choices about the way in which they manufacture their products and the materials they use to package their products and ship them.  Some really exciting innovative ways are being created and we want to get behind brands like these a hundred percent!

What Do You Do Now?

There are a few simple steps you can take to start your clean journey:

1. Relax! It wont happen over night and that's ok!
2. Use apps such as Yuka and Think Dirty to use a bar scanner on your phone to check out products in the aisle before you buy
3. Don’t throw all your products out! Use them until they are finished (lets not fill up the landfills sooner than necessary!)
4. Take it slowly and ask us for help
